You think Rep. Shelley Berkley will win the U.S. Senate race
By a margin of 54-46, Ralston Report site voters say Sen. Dean Heller will not be in office next year. Just under 500 people voted in the poll -- significantly more than the first one. So either Rep. Shelley Berkley's campaign took more time to juice the survey, I have more Democrats than Republicans visiting the site or......
Ad buy watch: As the polls turn, Romney, NRSC buy heavily in Nevada
As the debate polling fallout continues, national Republicans are re-investing in Nevada. And as polls continue to show Danny Tarkanian up on Steven Horsford, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee also is funneling more money into the state. Team Romney plunked down some signficant money in Reno and Vegas today and the National Republican Senatorial Committee did the same. The DCCC buy is in Vegas, where most of the district's population resides.
Oceguera poll shows Heck up 5
Speaker John Oceguera's pollster says his client is losing by 5 percentage points to Rep. Joe Heck, lower than some recent surveys but right in line with what the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee says. Oceguera and the national Democrats are pushing back against recent polls -- including one posted this weekend on this site -- that show Heck with a double-digit lead. Just as it was unusual for the DCCC to release a poll showing its guy losing, so, too, is it out of the ordinary for a candidate to make the survey public that shows he is down.
Steve Wynn, Part 2 preview
Tune in tonight to "Ralston Reports" -- 6:30 in the North and 7:30 in the South on NBC affiliates -- to see Steve Wynn let loose: ----On Barack Obama: "I'll be damned if I'll have him lecture me.....I can't stand being put down by a president who's never created any jobs...I'm afraid of the president." ----On Mitt Romney: "He's "not the world's greatest campaigner, but he is absolutely going to be a fabulous president." ----On Shelley Berkley: "This woman has no right to be in the Unted States Senate."
Why Reid hates Romney
In a trenchant piece that posted late last night, BuzzFeed's McKay Coppins and John Stanton delve into the animus Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid feels for Mitt Romney. The reporters did a fine job of laying out Reid's lack of respect for Romney, but let me add my two cents to their provocative post:
Steve Wynn: I understand health care, but "the president does not; Harry Reid does not"
Those are among the gems from Steve Wynn during the the first part of a lengthy interview that aired on Monday evening. (Part 2 will air Tuesday and the entire hour will be posted on the web later this week.) He also criticized the president for not doing more on jobs, tore apart the stimulus and said his workers are being crushed by the president's policies. Watch:
Romney-aligned SuperPAC returns to Nevada; Obama-linked Super-PAC makes first big buy
Restore Our Future, the SuperPAC aiding Mitt Romney, made a substantial buy today in Nevada -- North and South. The purchase -- six figures in Vegas and five figures in Reno -- was for the last week in October, showing that Team Romney still believes it has a chance to win this battleground despite adverse registration trends -- and the Romneyites can't afford to take Nevada out of play at this point. Priorities USA Action, the Obama-linked SuperPAC, also has its first English-language buy here. It starts tomorrow and goes through the election. The ad is below.
It's all about the women in CD3
Speaker John Oceguera has a new, amazingly brutal ad out about Rep. Joe Heck, indicating again that he believes pushing women away from the incumbent is his key to victory. This one could leave a mark.
New ads: Greg Brower loves education, John Oceguera loves gaming the system and Shelley Berkley loves to tax energy
GOP state Sen. Greg Brower sounds like a Democrat in his first, warm-and-fuzzy, I-won't-cut-education ad, and the National Republican Congressional Committee continues the assault on Speaker John Oceguera in CD3. And a new Dean Heller ad, too, on energy taxes:
Shelley Berkley goes up with education ad as DSCC pummels Heller on women's issues
Rep. Shelley Berkley went up this weekend with a new ad on education, using those comments Sen. Dean Heller was reported to have made long ago to the Pahrump Valley Times about abolishing the Department of Education.
